This program reviews the risk of radiation dose in pregnancy. It examines the risks of radiation, along with evidence, modifications made to protocols, and appropriateness of ordering computed tomography (CT) exams. The content describes steps to eliminate unnecessary radiation dose to the fetus during a CT exam. Also, techniques are reviewed to lower the dose currently being used in CT exams.
